The Navachab Gold Mine is situated within the southern central zone of the Damaran Orogenic belt. The distal skarn and stockwork quartz vein-type mineralization of Navachab is associated with northwest-southeast trending strike-slip fault systems and subsidiary structures. The main ore body at Navachab is some 35 m thick, with gold mineralization present in replacement skarn and in sheeted quartz veins.
More than 85% of the gold occurs as native gold and the remainder as maldonite (Au2Bi). Navachab Gold Mine has the capacity to treat 1.32 million metric tonnes of ore per year. In 2004, gold production was 647 kg, compared with 2,331 kg in (2003) and 2,653 kg in (2002). The drastic decrease during 2004 was attributed to a suspension of open-pit mining, due to the installation of new mining equipment. The Navachab Mine has recently delineated additional ore reserves, and was granted an additional 15-year mining license from the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
Sepp Thalmaier supplies material to Navachab since 2004 and service since 2008.

Namdeb Diamond Corporation increased production to 1.36 million carats from onshore sources as well as deep sea production by De Beers Marine, acting as a contractor to Namdeb. The Namdeb N$ 187 million bucketwheel dredge and floating treatment plant is in production enabling Namdeb to mine the low grade, largely waterlogged blocks in the south of its lease area. In 1996 Namdeb shifted 53.8 million tons of sand and rock increasing to about 72.5 million tons in 1997 with the company's total rough diamond output remaining about 1.3 million carats. Namdeb is switching to high tonnage, low cost mining involving Namdeb's US$40 million dredge project consisting of an 840 ton dredge floating on an inland pond, an associated floating treatment plant, 400 metres of floating walkway pontoons and a well field of 70 bore holes. The dredge is capable of stripping 2500 tons an hour of beach sand.
Namdeb plans to hand company town Oranjemund to local people when it ceases on shore mining operations.

Situated in south-western Namibia, 800 km south of Windhoek, this is an underground mine employing approximately 615 people. The mineral deposit occurs in complex structural settings, favouring silling and benching mining methods.
The mine has continually sought to increase operational efficiency and debottleneck processes have increased current production to 95ktpa of zinc concentrates, fully sold to Exxaro’s zinc refinery at market-related prices. The lead concentrate is sold to international customers.
Intensive on-mine exploration is under way to add to the total mineral resource of 8Mt. The current economic mine life of eight and half years is based on zinc concentrate production of 95ktpa. Limited exploration is also being conducted on targets outside the immediate mine area and the mine has entered into an exploration agreement with Ambase Exploration (Namibia) (Pty) Limited which will allow the two companies access to select areas under each other’s prospecting permits for exploration.
Sepp Thalmaier provides service and material to Rosh Pinah Zinc since 1993.
